On Tuesday, December 16, Office PDX will host Cinco for a special presentation of Nixon watches. Come get a behind the scenes look at the stories and creative process behind these innovative, modern timepieces.

In addition to its fresh “boutique” take on providing the latest in hip office supplies, Office PDX is a hub for local artist and designers who are rethinking the definition of work. To top it off they’re helping to keep us all on time with a select offering of the latest Nixon watches. All attendees will be able to place orders for watches with an event only discount, so bring your Black Cards and Check books. Join Office PDX, Nixon and Cinco to talk shop and get the lowdown on the latest new designs and maybe even stock-up on some holiday selects.

Local Portland photographer Corey Arnold shares a distinctive point of view of modern commercial fisherman in his Fish-Work exhibition. Culled from over six years worth of photographing commercial fishing operations between the Bering Sea and the North Atlantic, Corey’s photography is revealing, poignant and often laced with humor.

We are stoked to get to see his work up close and personal. This solo exhibition runs from November 19th thru December 20th with an opening party on first Thursday, December 4th. We encourage every one to check out his work, see it all at Charles A. Hartman Fine Art, 134 NW 8th Ave.

We are always stoked to see Nixon watches getting props in the press. Some of the latest to catch our eye is this photo shoot from Nylon Japan. Japanese youth culture brand X Girl & Nixon mix it up on the streets of NYC for some great chic lazeez-affair attitude with a nod to pop culture. Featured watches include the Nixon Widgi, Misty and LoDown in the a few of the latest color ways. ‘New York City Girl’ blog posted a bunch of images from the shoot - check it!

For those of us video game enthusiasts that must have the total gaming experience here is something not to be missed: The Spore Galactic Edition. We couldn’t help but have noticed, when picking up XLR8R’s latest Portland Annual City Issue that there were a few familiar faces.

Many of the folks that worked with us on our first issue of CO (The Inside Light) are burning up the pages of XLR8R for pushing the boundaries of creativity right here in Portland.

Of course, this was no news to us, but its good to know that our little town is getting recognized for leading the way creatively world-wide. We even got a little of Chris Hornbecker’s Inside Light photography in the pub as well (see Linger & Quiet below).

Congratulations to everyone recognized. It’s pretty amazing to be lucky enough to be part of such a creative community.
