Skate 2 and Skate It

The deck is a celebration of the individual skater!
EA’s much-anticipated new releases in the Skate video game franchise have finally dropped this month with Skate 2 (XBOX360 and PS3) and Skate It (Wii consoles). After the great success of EA’s first Skate game, they came to us to create the artwork for the next generation, helping them solidify Skate as a brand, as well as maintain the authenticity and integrity that made the first Skate game such a success.
The idea was simple; bring to the forefront what this game is all about. A rider’s board is as unique as the rider themselves. Each scratch tells it’s own story and no two are the same. Our process had us collecting boards from all kinds of skaters all over to use their decks as our inspiration.
The result was an idea we saw as documentation of the skateboarding way of life itself, combining simple ingredients to make something iconic and true. From collaborations with pro-riders, to art shows dedicated to deck art, the big idea was to create a system that lives beyond just pack art.
The game features a sick controller move-set, killer beats, and a skateboarders dream city - New San Vanelona, with a vast almost unlimited array of lines and obstacles to grind on. The improved game engine brings a new level of interactivity to the skater’s canvas. Giving players the ability to move objects around creating custom environments that can be shared with other players. The graphics creator and skate.Reel allow for personalized board designs and the ability to save highlights of killer tricks. All of which come together online where custom spots and videos can be shared.
EA’s latest Skate release offers great action for your inner skateboarder - Go get your grind on!!!
