CO is about collaboration, inspiration and identity. Revealing a point of view that is unique and fresh, the inaugural project is ‘The Inside Light’. Joining forces with photographer Chris Hornbecker and several of Portland’s favorite upcoming artists, musicians, fashion designers, and directors we crafted a story about personal vision. We developed and crafted Chris’s idea of illuminating and capturing a word onto an artist into a photographic narrative, rich with meaning.

Each artist picked a word with a personal connection to his or her art and personal vision. Love, Faith, Surrender, Mooreeffoc were a few of the words the artists selected. Our team created giant 8×4 foot typographic light boxes to use as the single source of light in the photo and with each flash revealing their word on them as reflection. The results are portraits that are unique and personal. Over the course of a few photo shoots we documented the likes of M. Blash, Honey Owens, Omegha Watts and Tahni Holt. Portland represent!

Working and performing as a collective this project has a underlying theme of stronger together, meaning our best work shows itself when we join forces, interests and inspiration. The first release is a print and e-book publication meant to inspire and provoke our collective creative curiosity. The photos included in this post show details of the finished work and also a few process shots showing the light boxes used.
