Watch Your Thumb!
Saimir Strati apparently spends more time in Home Depot than, the art supply store. While you may think that hammering 880 pounds of nails into a massive board smacks a bit obsessive, when you see the giant Leonardo Da Vinci portrait that is the result of these efforts, chances are you will be blown away. Saimir drives the nails in at varying depths to create the necessary shadows and light that bring this “drawing” to life. Being obsessive for the sake of being obsessive has certainly been a trend in art, but Saimir’s work appears to be as much about the finished piece as the process.
