PhotoShelter, Photography and the Internet
A few of the Cinco crew attended a conference presented by PhotoShelter.com. A self described town hall meeting for photographers and image buyers from advertising agencies and beyond. Cinco’s very own Kirk James participated on a panel along side image buyers and some great photographers (Marcus Swanson among others). One of the big topics was the far reaching effect of the Internet on photography. The business model of yesterday is gone and that is where PhotoShelter comes in putting profits back into the pockets of photographers. Other important topics were emphasis of timely vs. timeless in as much that our society and business requires an instant turn around from creative idea to final product. In general lots of cool people talking about f-stops and dope photography. A cool event. Check out the PhotoShelter.com web site for complete video coverage of the event.
