Are You Ready To Be The Don?

“Act like a mobster, think like a don. It’s only business.” That’s the canon we have been living lately at Cinco as we created the new visual identity system for Electronic Arts latest Godfather game. Walking around the office with prop guns, watching every great gangster movie, making propositions that can’t be refused… it is all just part of the process to push the creative edge for one of pop cultures most iconic brands, The Godfather.

Emulating the story of a mob meet up gone bad in Cuba, the player is tasked with re-establishing the base of the Corleone family. Building crime rings and illegal rackets are all part of the action. We encapsulated the essence of the game’s narrative in a series of key art pieces using the primary characters profile with scenes of mafia meetings filling the silhouette. Leveraging our design muscle from branding and illustration on through to art direction we helped delivered art fit for a Don. The imagery to the left and below are a few examples of the work we collaborated with and produced for Electronic Arts.

Godfather is due out this spring.
