PhotoShelter Rebranding

Few brands have a strong chance to come in, disrupt the status quo and overtake the traditional choice. Even fewer brands have the vision to change how people do something in a fundamental way. Our latest partner has just that kind of opportunity, and we are honored to be working with a brilliant group of people.

We teamed up with online image marketplace newcomer PhotoShelter to develop their new brand identity, visual language and web presence. Our first experience with PhotoShelter was last spring at a photographer and design traveling forum they held in Portland. It was an introduction to what they were working to achieve: a strong community of photographers and art buyers coming together to build a stock library for the benefit of both parties.

We worked closely with PhotoShelter to develop a complete visual brand language that would be flexible for needs and expressive of their passion for the photography community. The new word mark and icon position PhotoShelter at the forefront of technology and simplicity while sustaining a feeling of openness and community at its core. We took the defining feature of the icon and created a caption device to connect the many voices of the photographers and subjects to what the brand stands for. By working within these simple solutions, we expanded their richness and connectedness throughout printed and online materials.

For us at Cinco, this has been a unique and successful opportunity to combine some of our biggest loves — design, photography and a truly killer client.

Keep on eye on these guys at www.photoshelter.com.
They're primed to be in your list of daily must visits.
